Daniel on stageDaniel Hanson was born January 30, 1994 , in Eugene , Oregon . He has one brother and five sisters. He loves to sing and has always been part of his family's performances in the Oregon area as well as many other places across the U.S. He's been on numerous stages and has received many beautiful trophies and awards for his vocal mastery. He and his family have a nine acre country place, twenty miles west of Eugene, in Elmira.

Daniel's favorite color is yellow. Besides singing, dancing and playing the piano, some of his favorite activities are baseball, basketball, swimming, riding his 4-wheeler and bicycle, bowling, building with Legos and listening to music.

In 1998, Daniel sang on his family's first album, at the age of three. He was already able to carry his own harmony part while singing with others.

Daniel and Theresa winning at the fairHis talents were honored when he and his sister, Theresa (then 10) and Daniel (then 8), placed in the finals at the Oregon State Fair after winning the 2002 talent contest at the Lane County Fair with an exciting yodeling duet by the name of "The Man in the Moon."  This event and the Hanson's December Christmas caroling in Victorian costumes were topics of many nice articles in local newspapers and a national magazine.

In August, 2003, Christa, Lisa, Theresa and Daniel all placed in the finals at the county fair talent competition with Daniel taking "Grand Supreme Winner" and Lisa Rose winning 1st in the fifteen and younger division. Daniel (then 9) went on with his rousing song, "Cowboy Yodel", to place 2nd in the state competition.

In the "Discovering the Stars" singing contest, in Salem OR , August 2003, Theresa and Daniel won 1st place.  Lisa Rose took 2nd in her age division with, "He Taught Me to Yodel".  Daniel and Theresa were asked to come back the following week and perform before an audience of 5,000 at a big name concert. They did a great job!

In November, 2003, The Hanson Family Singers released
"Treasures of Christmas" ~ a beautiful collection of traditional Christmas favorites ~. It includes the solo voice of Daniel. It's available in many stores nationwide as well as on many websites.

Another "Seraphim" album, "God is Our Friend", was released in August, 2004 as a sequel to the best selling, "O God of Loveliness," cd. "Seraphim" is the voices of Christa, Lisa and Theresa Hanson. This cd features Daniel on three of the songs. It's a great gospel album!

August, 2004 found the four youngest back at the Lane County fair talent show where each of them did solos. Christa (then 19) placed 3rd in the adult division with a gospel song called, "No More Night." What an accomplishment! Theresa (then 12) won "Grand Supreme Winner" with a cute yodeling song called "Ricochet Yodel." She went on to take 2nd at the state competition.

Daniel was featured in clog dancing as well as a soloist on many songs in the production, "On the Wheels of a Dream." This show was held June 9 th and 10 th , 2005 at the Eugene Hult Center .

Danile in Gronk, The BladeIn April, May and June of 2005, Daniel and other family members were cast in a movie called,
"Gronk the Blade." Look for it in a theater near you.

The Colgate Country Showdown, a prestigious singing contest, includes bands and performers of all ages, but mostly adults. Daniel made it through the auditions, the preliminaries and competed in the top ten at the finals during the Coburg Golden Years in Coburg , OR . He received a standing ovation from the audience on both of his country yodeling songs and the judges gave him 3rd place. What an honor and an accomplishment.

At the Lane County Fair Talent Show in August of 2005 he was again named "Grand Supreme Winner". He won the hearts and admiration of the judges and the audience with a well presented rendition of a yodeling song called, "Daddy's Little Cowboy." He captured 2 nd at the state competition.

The Hanson's latest music cd, "A Song in My Heart", was recently released and has four yodeling songs, some patriotic, gospel, barbershop songs and more. You can listen to sound samples and purchase copies on this website.

On October 22nd , 2005 , Daniel Hanson sang at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV in the USA World Showcase. He was one of 175 performers out of 43,000 auditions. He took 1st place and brought home a beautiful trophy inscribed: Singing - Male Children Division. The show was aired on National TV on January 2nd, 2006.

On November 14th, 2005, the Hanson family took a nine day trip to Albuquerque, NM for the Western Music Assoc. Festival where Daniel and two of his sisters competed in the yodeling contest. They all had fun, did a great job and scored high. Daniel came home with the title, youth "International Yodeling Champion."

This is a very prestigious award presented by the Western Music Association.

Daniel continues to take a major part in "The Hanson Family Singers" engagements and usually steals the show with his yodeling. They typically have between twenty five and forty bookings for the Christmas season, but also sing year round for parties, banquets, fairs, Oktoberfests, teas, concerts, etc.
